Today we got a visit from Delhaize, a groceries company who held a worshop with us students at Hyper Island (Digital Media 10 and Interactive Art Director 10) about the Future Workplace. It was really interesting and giving for both parts, i believe.

It felt kind of surrealistic at first, that they were here to listen to our reflections and thoughts about how they should run their company (since they’re so big and established and we’ve only been students at Hyper since three weeks back), but I felt like they where really interested in what we had to say and that they took our points of view seriously and that made me feel much mor confident and outspoken. I started to come up with ideas and reflections I didn’t even know I had. Great.

Yesterday, a story was told to me.

A four year old girl in the US came into her family’s living room. The TV is on, someone is watching a movie. The girl stands in front of the TV for a while, looking at it. After a short while, she gets frustrated and irritated.

“Where is the mouse?!” she cries out.

She found the movie boring since she couldn’t interact with it. She realised that whatever she would do the movie would continue telling it’s story. It was static, impossible to change for her as a passive viewer. That was not enough to catch the childs interest and attention. She wanted more, she wanted a mouse.

The next generation will never settle for less than interactivity.

Burger King Whopper Freakout

Paul Collins referred to this viral during his lecture yesterday, I found it hilarious. The whole idea is SO american, I get “smile! You’re on canded camera!”-vibes. Mm-mm.

Har fått i uppgift att föra online-reflektioner över skolarbetet. Så nu blir det inte så mycket ordbajsande och personlig utfläkning här längre. Professionalitet är mitt nya ledord. Typ.

Visste ni förresten att man blir tidsblind när man jobbar framför en dator? Timmarna bara svischar förbi och man får samma effekt som när man sitter ner och super; helt plötsligt reser man sig upp och inser att man är helt trasig (läs; aspackad). Eller i mitt fall; utarbetad och hungrig.

Fascinerande, jag har alltid undrat hur det är att jobba på kontor, nu får jag uppleva det.
